Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AI Video Translator is a desktop application for translating and dubbing videos, distributed through the Microsoft Store. This policy covers both the desktop app and this website (ai-video-translator-app.netlify.app). Questions: ai.video.translators@gmail.com.

2. The desktop app

The app processes your media on your own computer. Specifically:

• Video files stay local. Your source videos are never uploaded to us or stored on our servers.
• Cloud providers (optional). If you choose a cloud provider for transcription, translation, or voice, the app sends only the audio and/or text needed for that step to that provider, authenticated with your own API key. We are not in the middle of that exchange and we do not receive a copy.
• On-device mode. If you use on-device models, processing happens entirely on your machine and no data leaves it.
• No account. The app does not require you to create an account or log in to us.

3. Third-party AI providers

When you opt to use a cloud provider, your use of that provider is governed by their privacy policy and terms, under your own account and billing. Providers you may connect include OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Google (Gemini), Inworld, and Soniox. We recommend reviewing each provider's policy before enabling it. On-device models (e.g. Whisper, Gemma, Kokoro, UVR-MDX-NET, Spleeter) involve no third party.

4. This website

The website collects only what's needed to understand traffic and respond to feedback, and only with your consent:

• Cookies & consent. On your first visit a banner lets you accept or reject analytics and marketing. Nothing non-essential runs until you choose. Your choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage, key avt_consent), not in a cookie, and you can change it anytime via Cookie settings in the footer.
• Analytics (Mixpanel). If you allow analytics, we use Mixpanel for aggregate page views and basic interaction events. It loads only after you consent. IP addresses are not collected, it stores its data in localStorage (not cookies), and it honors your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.
• Tag manager & Google Consent Mode v2. We use Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags. Under Consent Mode v2, all storage signals default to denied, so Google tags stay off until you grant the matching consent (analytics or marketing).
• Feedback form (Web3Forms). If you send feedback, your email (required), name (optional), and message are submitted to Web3Forms, which delivers them to us by email, solely so we can reply. We don't use them for marketing.
• No data is sold, and no advertising runs without your consent.

5. What we do not collect

We do not collect your video or audio files, your API keys, or the contents of your translation projects. Those stay on your device (or go directly to the provider you chose).

6. Data retention

Feedback messages (delivered to us by Web3Forms) are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and improve the product. If you allow analytics, aggregate data is retained in line with Mixpanel's standard retention. You can ask us to delete any feedback you've sent by emailing us.

7. Children

The app and site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

8. Your choices

Accept or reject analytics and marketing in the consent banner, and change your mind anytime via Cookie settings in the footer. You can also enable "Do Not Track" in your browser, use the app fully offline to avoid any third-party data sharing, and contact us to access or delete feedback you've submitted.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
